When i bought a few plants several months ago i guess a few small snails about the size of peas decided to come along for the ride. Well now it seems like they've started breeding, theres hundreds of small snails the size of salt moving around my tank. My question is will these snails be beneficial for my tank or just a problem in the long run?

i couldnt imagine them hurting anything but if you dont like them get some clown loaches or sumin to eat em

Clown loaches are overrated. There are plenty other options to get rid of the snails without adding bioload. Manually remove them, squash them or cut back on feeding. Firemouth, what fish are in your tank and what size is this tank?

Personally, if it was compatible I would get a clown loach. It will probably be equal to the bio load of snails it will kill...

Compatible with your tank that is.

well the only fish in the tank is a sanchezi piranha so i dont think i can add any other tank mates to take care of the problem

Cut back on feeding and manually remove them. If you like assassin snails, give them a shot but do add plenty of hiding places to avoid the piranha from picking them although their size may prevent the piranha from eating them.

That would work well... (assasin snails)
