So I saw this little thing on the back of my tank today. Did not think it was a baby of one of mine due to the pattern but that could be just because it is so small. Sorry for the pic as it was on the back side of my tank and very small.

Snails I have are:
Nassarous
Margarita
Turbo

It has more of a round shape like a margarita or a mexican turbo. It did not look flat like that. Had kind of a stripe to it though for sure. Which is what made me think it was not from any of the ones I have as none are really striped like that.

just to be safe check your zoanthid colonies and keep and eye on this snail to make sure it isn't a sundial.

your margarita snails... are they the black or tan variety?

i've seen a couple of these little guys in my 75 and 29, both have black margaritas.. but i'm not sure if it's comming form the LR or if the snails are breeding

My margaritas are black with the whitish spot on the tip of the spiral. I have only seen the one little snail so far.

most likely its a sundial of some sort that hitch-hiked from the LR most baby snail's get sucked up into filtration before they establish.

Nah, it's not a sundial. The zoanthid-predator Heliacus species have more of a checkerboard look, with the bands being broken:

It's most likely a Collonista species, or a snail in the same subfamily. They are in the same family as Turbos, and are algae grazers like their larger cousins. They're common hitchhikers, and often reproduce in reef tanks.
