One of the plants I got at the LFS must have been a carrier and now my tank is infested. Any suggestions? Other than quarantining the next batch which won't help me now.

Loaches seem to be the most popular choice.

I had a pair of convicts that wiped out a snail population pretty quickly.

Take as many out as you can manually, try feeding less, and try setting up a trap for them. Putting a bottle with romaine lettuce overnight is a good way to catch them.

i have a small group of convicts in my piranha tank.

i put a amazon sword in my tank and after i could notice a bunch of snails on it. Needless to say i never saw any of them again.

But i agree with what has been stated here. Traps and feeding less are the best ways if you don't want to add another fish to your tank.

I agree with Pyramid, Zander and dvega. Feeding less or trying to avoid overfeeding is your best defense. Additional snails cannot thrive properly without adequate food supply. Squash the rest and feed them to your fish. Free protein and I certainly would appreciate a few more snails in there IMO as they are quite useful in eating food leftovers that would otherwise deteriorate the water quality more quickly and allow harmful bacteria to thrive.
