Snail Keeping

I need some basics to keeping my snails alive. I found both my snails offed today. I found them both in different caves. they slid in there when I put them in there after I rearanged my tank. Is there more to them then put them in the tank and let them eat alge.

What kind of snails and what is your stocking? If they are apple snails, they are not efficient algae eaters and need supplemental diet.

It was a blue mystery and a military helmet but I ralized the same day I was working on my tank I dropped my Lite in the tank on. I quickly grabed it out in hopes that I could save it and proptly got shocked. My fish were fine so I didnt think of it until today I told my brother that my snails got wacked and he said was that becuse you electricuted then and I Thought to myself that would make sence they were grounded and I never seen them move after that. So I think I wacked my own snails.

My lites fine now though.

I would take that whole electricity thing and run with it probably a good start I certainly think CSI would start there. But in all seriousness I had a blue mystery as well and little fella up and croaked on me one day was suprised he wasn't the only snail in tank but he just went. I do know they are supposed to be a little sensitive to water conditions and chemicals. I got over it pretty fast as well.
