So I recently set up a devoted invert tank that has 4 wild caught glass shrimp, an assassin snail, a bolivian ram's horn, half a dozen or so carpet malania, similar number of red rimmed malania, some pond snails and about a dozen local river snails. I was expecting a loss of one snail every two days from the assassin but after only having the tank set up for 3 days I'm counting over 5 empty shells. The assassin is killing and before it can finish eating the glass shrimp are chasing it off. I have yet to see the assassin catch one but I do see the shrimp scavenging the remains very aggressively. Really cool to watch.

I might have to actually rescue my malania and get them breeding faster because I can already assume where this ecology experiment is heading. lol
