Canada eh?
hey all,

So i wake up this morning and i lean over my bed to feed my fish/cray/snail's and i gazed at the top of the tank and what did i see??
My first cluster of snail eggs!! hahaha
I'm so happy, i cant wait for em to hatch.
The snail laid the eggs above the water level like there supposed to and i was just wondering if there's anything i should do to ensure they hatch.. ie keep em moist or something? (since the not in the water and all)
Also how long do they take to hatch, isn't it 2 weeks or something?

Keep the eggs moist. If you want to hatch them safely without the others knocking them off to the water thus drowning the embryo, wait for the eggs to harden in 24 hours and scrape them gently with a razor blade. Wrap it in moist tissues and place in a ziplock bag or tupperware. You can float the container in the tank and check each day for development. What species are these snails? Mystery eggs turn peach to white with blue spot as they hatch soon. Blue spots are the babies' spire colors. You can swish the eggs to the water once they begin to hatch or leave them to eat their way out of the eggs and reach the water.

The higher the temperature and the more moist the environment, the faster to hatch. Leave 5 weeks. After 5 weeks and the eggs haven't hatched, poke one with a toothpick. If it's only goo, dispose the eggs as they're infertile.
