ok so i posted a while ago with my daughters new 20gal long turtle tank setup. well im planning on upgrading her to 40gal, but the 20 has major snails all of a sudden and i dont want these things in the 40gal. they are multiplying like crazy. help please!

You will probably need to replace all the filter media and clean all the decorations really well. It might be easier to just dose some copper medication which will kill them all. I don't think it would hurt the turtle, but you should probably research it some before you try it.

Cutting back on the feeding will help keep them down. Soaking the deco in bleach will kill all snails and ytheir eggs. Just make sure to rinse it really well and allow it to air dry overnight.

will it be an issue to use the substrate in the new tank? i set up the 40gal with a new filter 405. the 20gal has a hob. so from what i read...20:1 water to bleach solution, dip the plants? for how long?
