Hi,
90 gallon with an Oscar. I added some java fern, and a little while later snails start appearing in my tank.... I assume the ferns had eggs or tiny snails in the bag that I couldnt see.

They've been breeding like rabbits on viagra, so I added 5 yo yo loaches to eat them. However they dont seem to be going after them at all. They arent fully grown - only about 3". Is that too small to go after snails, or are these loaches just duds?

Thanks

Put a lettuce leaf in before you go to bed. The next morning it should have snails on it. I would make it sink to the bottom with a fork so they find it. Repeat until happy.

I had a similar problem not too long ago, at the time I had two clown loachs one about 4" the other around 3" they eradicated the snails with no problem, not sure about yo yo loachs? I was also told to put a assassin snail in the tank but their was no need,,, g/l

Try mts or nerites.

Also speaking of mts I put about 5 dozen baby mts in my 75 that has 4 3 inch clown loaches and within days they were gone. I hadn't expected them to eat mts

I have pond snails and rams horns (my JTDs died in haz flood) i had nerites in with Toni but she some how managed to empy the shells lol

The shells are about the size of a Cheerio. I'm not familiar with snails. Idk what type these are, just that they're apparently in a permanent state of arousal.
