anyone got a suggestion for a snail species i could use for algae control in my rbp tank? just wanna keep the leaves of my anubias brown algae free...In a normal tank id use a chinese algae eater or the other dwarf species (the name escapes me) but its not really an option in this tank.

snails will do a decent job, but nothing really compares to otos if you are looking to get rid of the brown algae, especially the stuff on plants. i had a bad outbreak of brown algae in my 75 gallon this winter and i got a dozen otos, within two days there was no algae left... my pygos had picked off a few of them, but they were small enough that they could hide pretty well, the fact that they stay attached to leaves and tank decorations most of the time helps out with their survival as well.

I LOVE OTOS... that was the dwarf I was refering to but i forgot the name when i first posted this. I have between 20-30 in my discus tank (kinda lost count, I added them pretty regularly cus they dont all take to the tank for some reason and one of my discus picked at them like it was his job). I figured my rbp's would rip them up. Ill def. add some tommorrow night when the lights go off 1/2 hour after i feed...Anyone had luck with stingray plecos in a piranha tank?
