What are the best snails for brown and fuzzy algae? I have a few what I believe are apple snails, just normal fish store snails. Will these do the job?

I have ramshorn snails, they did good job cleaning brown and green dot algae. Nerit is even better and they don't multiply in freshwater.
Snails will eat algae, but prefer other foods. If you can, get an ancistrus catfish. It will eat the algae in your tank in no time. Just be sure to feed the ancistrus after the algae is all gone.
