a friend of mine is having snail issues in his tank and i told him that i would take some off his hands to feed to my peacocks. i've fed them snails before as treats and they love them but they have been larger snails and these snails that he has are very tiny. so my question is what is the risk of feeding them tiny snails? can they choke? anyone with personal experience?

I dont think they would be interested in them, dont risk getting them in your tank if they remain uneaten.
tell your friend to get some loaches.

Maybe he could give them to someone with puffers?

they would get eaten for sure, i just dont know if they would choke or develop anything internally in their g.i. tract from the small shells. seems too risky to try out unless anyone has fed extra small snails to their fish
