Snails got buried in sand

I added about 20lbs of sand to my 90g tank. In addition to the fish, there are 7 Golden Inca Snails, and 2 Golden Rabbit Snails. 1 of the Rabbits, and 4 of the Incas appear to remain buried 45min later. The deepest part of the sand substrate is about 3.5 inches.

Question: Should I be worried? Can they survive under sand for that long, and dig their way out?

I don't know about Rabbits, but the Inca snails with which I am familiar aren't really burrowers.

I can't tell if you mean that the snails dug themselves in and disappeared...or that you just dumped 20lb of sand on top of them and said "Good luck, guys!"
