I've read a few threads on here about random tiny snails appearing in a tank but they have all been freshwater tanks. My 55 gallon brackish with a salinity of 1.10 has them too. I noticed them last week and there is only a few of them. I don't even know how hey got in there because the tank has always been brackish and I've never had any snail or live plants in there whatsoever. I don't mind them I'm just curious how they got there.

I suppose I just added some aragonite to it a few month back. I was under the impression that salt kills he snails though so how are they living and breeding in a Brackish tank?

some snails are said to breed in brackish. i had columbian ramshorn fw snails live up to 1.008 and breed. and olive nerite snails are supposedly brackish, although ive never seen any in person.

I have olive nerite snails in my F8 puffer tank.

olive nerite snails are excellent BW snails, naturally they're found in tidal rivers and i've kept them in my own aquariums at every SG from 1.000(FW) to 1.028(SW)
