I have so many snails in my Discus tank and was wondering if there is a fish that I can add to this tank that will eat them? The Discus have no interest in the the snails and they are starting to multiply big time. I've been searching for something that can tolerate the temp and leave the discus alone at the same time but so far nothing. Any suggestions? I was thinking of putting a couple YoYo Loaches in the tank?

This may sound drastic, but I would save as much of the water as possible, drain the tank, throw away the gravel and replace with new gravel or white sand.

This may sound strange, but the guy at my LFS gave me a baby (like 2") koi when I had a snail problem in my discus tank. I didn't think they could tolerate the heat very well, but the fish ate all the snails, and was thriving in the tank. Before that I had tried both clown loaches and yoyo loaches. Maybe it was just my fish, but they all picked on the discus. They were all hiding in the corner of the tank, but the koi left everyone alone. He sifted through the sand all day long.

Do the lettuce and trash trick. Take a piece of lettuce or cucumber and weigh it down in the tank. Wait till the snails swarm on them and toss the lettuce in the trash.

I'll thy this method. Hadn't thought about doing this but it makes perfect sense. If I don't do something soon I'll have to start calling this tank my snail tank instead of my Discus tank.
