I have a pair of convicts and a pair of jeweled cichlids in my tank and was wondering if I put some ram snails with them, if the fish would bother the snails and if the snails would bother the fishes eggs? thanks

The cichlids will have for a nice snack -OR- you will have an aquarium filled with snails.

I have the oportunity to get an apple snail the size of a very large ball..... so it would not reproduce. If it is that big, do you still think the fish would bother it?

I believe so. If you have a tropical community tank, it could be a welcome addition there...to a much gentler audience.

I already posted this in the general discussion, I think. Thought maybe more people would see my question here. I have the opportunity to get an apple snail that is the size of a large ball. I have a pair of convicts and a pair of jeweled cichlids, would they bother a snail that big? I don't want to get it if they will possibly kill it. thanks

I don't believe that they'd kill it. I've done this combo myself in the past and had success. I would worry about the convicts and jewel cichlids pairing up. Then they'd get vicious.

If you ask me, you are playing a big risk mixing those cichlids. I'd keep the snail in a separate tank. I have a snail-safe tankmates list in a reference sticky here.
