Seeing as no one answered my post about clams: my snails always die. And while we're on the subject my crayfish always die to (i geuss i suck with inverts):(. Help:confused:!

Okay. But does it matter if i have a well?

I had snails in my tropical tank, but they would crawl near the output of the filter, and end up with bubbles in their shell, and red devil would charge at em, pushing them off the tank walls, and they would be forever floating around the surface.. nothing i could do seemed to work, i tried putting them under my log so they could suck to the top.. but they would end up on the surface again... any tips?? :)

Check your pH. if it's under 6.5, that may be the reason. Snails need alkaline waters to survive(or at least have a good shell). Your snails might be old. Snails only live for a year in tropical climates 75+ degrees, and if you got your snails all at the same time, they might all be dying of old age and just looking like there's something wrong with your snails. Copper kills invertibrates and if your clams and snails are dying, copper may be the cause. They also could be dying of starvation if you don't feed them enough. Try putting algae discs in there. You don't need to own snails if you don't have live plants to fuel algae.

That's why It is smart to get smaller snails. I agree with aquariumguy2300 ^

OK thanks.
