snails i had a snail and i died about 2 mounth later i seen to rocks moving around after a while i noted they had little mouths then i thougt they were snails.
I all so got two plant right after the snail died.I was wondering if the babys were from the mom snail or from the plants?

snails come on live plants all the time and then try to take over your tank.
I feed snails that i find to my crayfish

In my discus tank the snails come in waves. there are a lot of them, then they just seem to die off at a certain size. then there are babies and the cycle continues. my planted tank has no signs of algae with the hard working snails in it. i like the snails, i reckon gives a better total enviroment to the tank

I love my snail! It really keeps the algae in check. Mine hitched a ride on a new plant that I acquired.

Watch out! Sometimes snails can reproduce like crazy and take over your tank. I had to restart a tank once because of that problem.

A friend of mine set up a really good ecosystem in his tank and the snails keep themselves in check. There are lots of empty shells (dead snails) in his gravel but the live ones aren't taking over or anything. And the shells add to the decor.

yeah theres no doubt the snails are a benifit especially in a non planted tank. if you are overrun with them then thats a 100% sure fire way to prove you are overfeeding. i keep snails in all my fry grow out tanks and find that i can control the snails depending on how much i feed. but with it being a fry tank i like to make sure they all get enough so im happy for the snails to clean up afterwards. they always come in on the damn plants though.

I've decided that the next time I add any plants, I'm going to quarantine them for a little while to see if any little creatures show up.
