wondering if anyone keeps snails in there tanks. Was thinking of putting a couple in my 75. thoughts, experiences?

I am sorry to say this but you were misguided. Neither plecos nor snails eat poo. Nobody does. If they do, they were consuming undigested portions of eaten foods. It is sad until now, snails are still interpreted as "janitors" when they are not.richardsgirl;3178441; said:snails are good for tanks that generally get dirty quickly. usually using more than one type of waste eater is best since they all eat different things. EX. i have 2 black moor goldfish and 2 guppies in a 10 gallon tank, the plecostomus or "sucker fish" doesnt eat much of the green algae that grows so quickly with these type of fish, but the snail that i got ate the algae away quickly but didnt help with the waste like the plecostomus does. my snail was TEENY TINY, and some how disappeared though. :[
which made me sad that little thing was so cool. he was FAST i dont know who said snails were slow. we dont know what happened to him, he's not in the filter, not in the tank, i doubt the fish ate him, but we cant find a way for him to have gotten out and not left a "snail trail" but i suggest getting one!!! they are fun. :]]
