what do u have to have in a salt water tank can i go with out snails and srimp?

Bumping after 16 min? thats kinda impatient isnt it?

What do you mean what do you need in your tank so you dont need shrimp or snails? You never "need" snails or shrimp, they are just good at keeping the tank free of algea and detritus. If your talking about to keep algea out, then get a Algea scrubber, but even that wont be 100%, other things that will eat detritus (food wastes, fish wastes) would be various zooplancton and things like bristle worms, but snails are more attractive then bristle worms and snails are cleaper to replace when they die (assuming they didnt spawn).

Why exactly do you not want snails or shrimp?

Yea dude i have no clean up crew... i have a massive filtration system and i could let lbs of shrimp rot in my tank for weeks and it would eventually dissolve and the bio load would take care of it.... I have never had problems with derbis or noticeable particles in a SW tank.

... but with your future snowflake he shouldn't make a mess at all. Just hand feed him to reduce waste in the tank

ok cool so if i have no clean up crew just add extra filter right?

Ha. That's not exactly what he is saying... He is saying he has enough filtration that it is not a concern for him. Depending your filtration you made need more to have the same result or you may already have enough.

Basically yes, without cleanup crew you need more Biofiltration to clean up the extra nutrients produced by rotting food/wastes. But you will also end up with more algea to deal with, though if you add a scrubber that problem is solved as well.

ok cool guys thanks for all the help! :) :) :) :)
