SNAILS?!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You need to start posting information. I don't have a magic crystal ball that allows me to see what ails your tank like Oddball does. There are many many snails, and some are bad some are not. You will have to post what they look like, or a picture of them.

so i tried taking pictures of the snail, it was pretty much impossible. they wher way to small for the camera. the best i can describe it is that one was black and one look like a light brown.

Ramshorns have spiral shells. Pond snails are sort of round or research Physas. You'll want to avoid the latter. They reproduce rather quickly and needed to be controlled by reducing food rations, manual pick-up or bait them with lettuce weighed down by a rock to prevent from floating.

if you want to get rid of them all together...purchase a small clown loach..they LOVE snails.

some do some dont. I have snails all over plenty of tanks with loaches in, clowns and yo yos. This should only be done if you want a loach also.

Very true. You should only purchase the loach if you want it, but more importantly, you should only buy the loach if the snails are harmful. Many snails will help a planted tank.
