I'm having trouble deciding on what snake to get. I want a boa or python that reaches a max of 9-12 ft and won't break my wallet ($200). I was thinking maybe a rainbow boa or maybe a common red tail. What do you guys think?

get a hognose! lol naw id go for a ball or a red tail

what about a hogg island boa, an argentine boa, dwarf male retics (not sure of price on these though), male burm, macklots python,

My old hog island was awesome.Very docile, get a red tail or one of those.Pretty much the same thing.I think for the price and if you want something to handle alot then just go with these.Ball python might be too small for what you want.By the way,how do you know for sure on dwarf retics,my luck it would end up the biggest one in the world and eat my boas?

oh i alomst forgot......what about a blood python.will get close to your length but will make up for it in girth!!!! the borneos will be small, bti i think the black bloods get a little bigger. the red bloods (sumatran? malaysian?) cant get pretty big. i think males in the 4-6 foot range but females can push 10 feet i though ive heard.

For a first time snake owner? Look no further then my balls...erm, I mean, ball python.

Boa Constrictor is fine as long as you research properly.
Get a baby and it will grow with you and you will handle it naturally as it grows, that way when its big, you would have slowly gotten used to it and you'll handle it fine.

Our first snake was a Burmese Python, whilst in no way do I reccomend this, we were OK as we researched and knew what we were getting into.
