Snake head

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I remember seeing snakeheads in a US aquarium shop roughly 40+ years ago. Once I saw one eat I better understood why later they would be banned. Those things would make a peacock bass back up and holler WHOA!

Live snakeheads were being sold at food markets in China Town, but they were an ugly grey color. Some markets were also selling live Soft Shell Turtles and other aquatic animals in the aquarium trade but cheaper by the pound.

By China town do you mean in China or somewhere in the else called Chinatown
Live snakehead is very illegal to sell in the USA so if the store is there they might be breaking the law idk bout other countries but turtles are legal in the usa

I'm specifically speaking about cities that have a China Town location. For instance, San Francisco China Town had a few markets that sold live snakeheads, softshell turtles, and on rare occasions, snapping turtles. l understand that some of these species are illegal in the US and additional species are restricted in states such as California--snapping turtles. I stated, "Live snakeheads were being sold at food markets in China Town." That was a time in the past. I'm glad that you presented an opportunity for me to clarify my post, which I ought to have done in the first place.
