My brother in Pensacola Florida sent me this pic. He was over at a friends house (possibly a professor?) who has a bunch of snakes. This was one of them. He thought it was a water snake but he wasn't sure. He said he held it for like 30 straight minutes and it just chilled and didn't try to bite or get away.

Anyways, just wondering if any of you could ID it for me, cuz I'm curious.

Cool. They have neat patterns. I'll have to look up more about them, and maybe keep one someday.

Are they pretty easy to keep?

They are awesome for a moderately advanced keeper. They can get bitty and put on a big show when they are mad (they are known for hissing extremely loudly) but otherwise, they are awesome. Mine is territorial and will false strike (lunge with his mouth closed) in his enclosure and hiss and spit but he has not bit me in 3 years and I pretty much trust him now.
