Snakehead behaiviour

I recently bought a marbled snakehead and he seems really reserved boardering on being timid. This is my first snakehead and from what i've read his behaiviour dosen't seem normal, i could understand it if he had aggressive tank mates but they don't show any aggression towards him.
Any thoughts on the cause?

give him time to adjust. lots floating plants and driftwood will make it feel more secure.

Thanks for the input, i have floating plants but they're being claimed by my Oscar.
He tends to hang around close to the surface over a piece bogwood.
