HI, africana,obscura,aurantimaculata,stewartii,

where abouts in england are you ? , if you looking for something very mean ,with a very bad temper ,i have a 7 inch marulius (suspect sp sp Salween) ,that is very cheap ,obviously it would not stay in a 5x2x2 for life so you would need some sort of plan for when its old ,but at 7 inches it will do ok as a single fish for a while , i would not chance it with any other fish you dont want it to kill , as at the moment he is raging all out war on a 9 inch jardini and a 10inch butti , it would need picking up this week though as i will be taking him in to px for a marulioides at the weekend

ps iam up in the northeast ,would even consider swapping him if you have anything of interest

cheers col

Ill pass on the marulius thanks, aurantimaculata looks great id love to go with that, in a tank that size how many could i have and are there any suitable tankmates

as ermgravy said finding aurantimaculata is the hard part , to be honest i would just go with one unless you find a pair and donate the full tank to them and keep them at temperate conditions. i kept mine with both marulioides and marulius and they get on great with each other ,maybee try 1 aurantimaculata and one pleuro( pictures of theese do them no justice when you see them in the flesh they are gorgous  or poss marulioides or even a smaller type but big enough not to be viewed as food , also all they seam to get on great and enjoy the company of birchirs , then something robust to go in with them , hope what ever you decide it goes well for you, iam shure once you have one you will allways want one ,they are great fish . plus keep us updated whatever you choose
