None. Snakeheads are a species only fish Best kept as a solo fish or if your lucky in pairs.

Channa marulioides.
I have a pair about 25 inches with ma asian aro, fire eel, l600
absolutely no agression at all !
Marulioides are the best channa for a community set up in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure a single one of every type of channa, save for Micropeltes "could" live in a populated tank. But either the Channa, or the tankmates would be unhappy, and that's only if you are lucky.

In most cases, either your channa will wash out and die, or you'll find dead fishes at the bottom of your tank from time to time, most of them cut in half.

Pleuros seem to be a legend long term. Again, I think a single one could work in a comm, and would probably be the only one I'd try, but yeah, the "Species tank" rule seem to be the number one rule of any Channa species.

If you want a channa in a community tank you should also check if the channa is subtropical or not.
Some channas dont do well in very warm water.

hi i would like to ask something because tomorrow i will add my new 6' senegal bichir to my tank. right now my tank had one 5' dwarf snakehead and with 4 goldfish and 1 ID shark . i would like to ask if they would work fine with each other?

My experience with Senegals is that they ignore anything they can't fit into their mouth (And sometimes what fits into their mouth doesn't necessarily fit the rest of their body, resulting in choking and death). But I must say, depending on your shark and the goldfish size, your SH is probably going to be in hiding most of the time.

I have kept my channa lucius with datnoids, various bichris, wolf fish, clown knife fish, and red hook silver dollars. For a year or two now with no problems what-so-ever. The channa gets along with all the tankmates and is often hanging out with my hoplias. I have had no snakehead related deaths and the snakehead mantains an active life with a healthy appetite. My only complaint is I can't find more lucius to get a group going in my community.

Where are you located? I know a place in vancouver with Lucius. PM ME if it helps.

Also for the record, Lucius is one of the most peaceful species of channa. Heres a video of channa lucius with many species of barb, dario, and mny other small schooling fish
