My fish is a Redline Snakehead (Micropeltes), so far ive caught him rubbing against the rocks in his 10 gal tank.. He's about 7in now.. He has no tank mates. I feed him small shubukin about 1.5in ea.
I read some write ups online about the signs of ick.. and Ive dosed him twice with Methylene Blue.. It sez on the label of the MB, 5 drops per galon of water.. didnt feel like giving him the full dosage so i just put half of the dosage.. well a little bit more than half i guess.. i put in 30 drops.. figured that would cover much and it'd be on the safe side.. am i doing the right stuff?
But ive also read from you guys that i should just use salt and raise the temps..
if i do it with salt.. how do i raise the temps?
Im a bit of a newbie.. this is only my second fish.. My first Aussie Arowana jumped out of his tank and died..:cry: HELLLPPPPPPP!!!!!!:(:(:(

I heard just salt and raising temp with water changes. I never had the ick though. 10g for a snakehead?

Yeah hes still a bit small.. im getting a 70gal by the end of march tho. Oh and i forgot to say he also darts around... something unsual... HELP!

Ya i think your tank is only 10inches wide so not much room. Ya sorry don't know much on ick. I would just do alot of water changes and raise the temp. But pp on here will help you more.

I don't know nearly as much as the other pp on hear but i would say the darting is because of the small tank. sweet fish though

I would just do the salt and raise the water temp a little. Don't go on and put 100 degree water in. But rais it up a little more. If that does not help you should think about going to your lfs and get some medication.

So i just use a regular thermometer? lol sorry i havent done these kinds of stuff on my fish so i have no idea on how i should go about raising my wtemp.
I also think i should do it gradually? so that he doesnt get fin rot? i heard they get rot cause of sudden water changes..
