Just snapped a few pics to determine an id for a friends fish. Any guesses even with the crappy photos?? The colors of the fish look a little darker in person. Thanks guys!

snakehead not illegal in california?

its about 5" long now, growing very very fast. i know it was picked up at about 2 1/2 inches around a month ago.

Channa gachua One of the most commonly available Snakeheads, thanks to it`s very widespread distribution in the wild. Yet, it is nice little species (up to 20 cm as adults), that can show a lot of variation in color and markings, depending on the locality where they have been caught.

Take a look at link for more info.
