It's been 3 days, it's not eating anything, not even live mollies and guppies! Any ideas? I have just got it. It seems adapted to the environment, swimming around and being lied on by bichir.

Hi,it might take him some time to get familiar to its new home,is it caught in the wilds or did you buy it?

approx 8-10cm, couldn't get a ruler in cos mine's metal, :P got it from lfs. seems like farmed to me. it's a dwarf species, from wad the uncle said, temporarily can't id or take any candid of him without stressing him out. how long does it takes to adapt? i wonder how many day can it lasts without eating.

Well it seems like your giving them all the options, i just recently caught 12, 1 inch baby's and I'm going threw the same process as you. mine are so small I can't really tell If there eating or not. . I wish you the best of luck..

It's been my experience with snakeheads (I've only owned the red snakeheads though, no experience with any dwarf species) that they are pretty skittish. I would guess that, even after it does eat (which I would say that as soon as he's hungry enough, any fish that will fit in his mouth will be gone) he will still be pretty skittish for a couple weeks. I hope this helps. Stay patient, snakeheads are awesome fish. Just curious, how big is the aquarium?

isolation chamber twice its size with a bichir slightly longer than it inside. the chamber is in a 18L tank with HOB rated for 200L, I loaded bio-media rated for 200L in the filter. ANN is 0,0,0. Both snakehead and bichir appears unrestrained by the space. Bichir eating extremely well. Will be upgrading the space as necessary. I am curious as to why you are curious about the tank size? Not to worry, I will be patient. I am just afraid the fish isnt.

I would turn off the tank light, but just enough light (use room light) so that the fish could see the bottom and sprinkle a little bit of Tetra Color Bits (Tropical Granules). It will help reduce the stress, and hopefully it'll eat something.
