hi guys, i'm intereseted in keeping snakehead, at the moment i'm just trying to gather as much info as i can. I'm interested in the channa gachua species. What size tank and setup would you advise??

They're not banned in Maryland Crackrocksteady.

Anywyas, how many are you planning to keep?for a small group 4 or 5 i would keep them in at least a 50g. lots of hiding places.

Why are certain posters so "touchy" when it comes to discussing Snakeheads? Yeah i know thier illegal, but cmon! You guys need to lighten up.

I agree. Nothing wrong with researching and discussing a fish you admire, even if you cannot keep it yourself. I have that problem with fish I cannot afford! :D

Hi..

There are 25 or so species of snakehead, occurring across Asia and tropical Africa channa gachua. This species is a good choice for anyone just starting to keep Snakeheads. Channa gachua has been bred repeatedly in aquariums pH of 6.0-8.0 preferred, temperature no more than 25*C A pair will need a minimum tank size of 90x37x45cm/36x15x18" Ensure the tank has a tight fitting lid as C. gachua are well known for jumping

hope this helps

channa gachua are not as aggressive as other snakeheads, correct?
