There are no breeding populations known outside of extreme south Florida and the Potomac region.
A few were found in Arkansas a few years ago, they were farmed there extensively for food before the federal ban, but they were isolated and few and far in between. My buddy while getting his masters in fisheries management at Arkansas Pine Bluff helped to look for them in Arkansas. After days of using rotenone to kill hundred of thousands of native fishes, none were found.
The Potomac population is isolated by salt water down stream and mountains/rapids up stream. They are not going anywhere. The population in South Florida is a tropical species and can not move any further north due to their inability to withstand cooler temps. So, if you want to catch them, head to either of those two places, other wise you arent going to catch one.
