hi i havent posted on monster fish before i love this site i have a giant snakehead who when the light is turned on goes to the top of the water an starts swimming really hard on the spot an sometimes jumping is it that the light may be to bright?.also what kind of plants an cover are best for a snakehead
duckweed, Snakehead's NEED plant cover other wise it'll beat its brains in trying to jump out,
Any floating cover will work i use duckweed because it grows like mad blanket's the surface but is small enogh for them to easily swim through to breath if they wish
thanks heaps are there any other fast growing plants like reeds an stuff that i should put in his tank and should they be low light plants aswell so i dont have to have light on.finding information on snakeheads hard on the net an even harder in my country
the sudden change from dark to light and vice versa can shock fish, you could try not switching on lights in a dark room and when turning off the light leave the room light on until the tank lights have been off a few seconds to reduce this.
