Restricted Fishes of Connecticut
Department of Environmental Protection website, the following species or live eggs there of are prohibited from importation into or possession in the state.
1) Bowfin (Amia calva)
2) Gars (Lepisosteidae spp.)
3) Gizzard shad (Dorosoma cepidianum)
4) White bass (Morone chrysops)
5) Freshwater drum (Aplodinotus grunniens)
6) Snail carp or black carp (Mylopharyngodon piceus)
7) Silver carp (Hypophthalmichtys molitrix)
8) Big head carp (Aristichthys nobilis)
9) Carp (Cyprinus carpio)
10) Tench (Tinca tinca)
11) Rohu (Labeo rohita)
12) Calbasu (Labeo calbasa)
13) Catla (Catla catla)
14) Mrigal (Cirrhina mrigala)
15) Mahseer (Tor tor)

(ii) Family Channidae: China fish, snakeheads: All members of the genus Channa.
(iii) Family Characidae: Piranha: All members of the genera Pygocentrus, Rooseveltia, and Serrasalmus.
(iv) Family Clariidae: Walking catfish: All members of the family.
(v) Family Cyprinidae:
(A) Fathead minnow, Pimephales promelas.
(B) Grass carp (in the diploid form), Ctenopharyngodon idella.
(C) Ide, silver orfe or golden orfe, Leuciscus idus.
(D) Rudd, Scardinius erythropthalmus.
(vi) Family Gobiidae: Round goby, Neogobius melanostomus.
(viii) Family Lepiosteidae: Gar-pikes: All members of the family.
