anyone hear of snakeheads cross breeding?

i wonder if someone released a solitary redline (or other SH variety for that matter) in one of the ponds or rivers where the northern snakehead where introduced, if they would cross.

if they could hybridize then would any of the offspring be fertile?

would they have hybrid vigor?

and what would the chance be for them to survive a winter?

for some reason i get the impression you happen to have the type of snakehead your intrested in . And i got a fealing your thinking of trying to let it go.

if this is so please please please do not do that,.

First off the red sh will die when winter gets here. secondly northerns and argus are the only ones who can survive our winters. So if you happen by chance to have one and be intrested in getting rid of it PM me

what?

The reason why I brought it up is because some jack *** at work was saying they might cross breed with the local bowfin population. I told him there was no chance but they might be able to cross with other types of snakehead.

Just wondering if I’m full of it

I wouldn't think so, being reds are moer aggr than northern, no way would they breed with bow's ( i dont really dont think so)...

i wish snakeheads were able to do this because i would mix a 3 spot with a rainbow
