Just been into wildwoods and herd they have got a load of new SH's coming in stock.
I am after an aurantimc and some assams so will go back at weekend when thay are on sale.

Anyone else after new stuff could be werth looking in. I know theyve got some good stuff tucked outback :)

i think they have another pleuro left, thats where i got mine, very nice specimens, and £20 for a pleuro i thought was quite good, its not like you come across them everyday

heres a good site to check out stock of channa (and almost any other fish)

http://www.tropicalfishfinder.co.uk/

you can have most delivered to your door next day

agreed the pleuro price was very reasonable , but just to compare some of the other channa

ornatipinis £129 to £159 elsewhere £45
pulchra £49.95 elsewhere £20
marulia £16.95 elsewhere £8.95
sp assam £17.95 elsewhere £9.95

but on the other hand

bankanenis £12.95 i think is a great price
pleuros £20 is also a great price , considering hardly anywhere can get them at the moment

obviously when looking for channa the price can never be your number one concern as sometimes your just lucky to find them , i dont mind wildwoods as they offer shipping and a great selection but find that some prices are unjustly expensive ,its not just the channa either it seems like most species are the same.

Why don't you just go down to your local river and catch some snakeheads, I heard that they can be found in England these days ^^ .

yeah have u seen the prices of the piranhas, lol well to expensive and for tiny serras aswell that take forever to grow to a decent size

From what I read on an w-cite regarding evasive & prohibited fishs pecies in the state of Florida, There are a couple of water ways that Channa Marulius are said to be established. I even seen a local fisherman drag in a 16-18in. specimen on youtube. I can't remember the water way, but just like in Crofton Md. if you catch one, do not throw it back in the water! The fish are suposed to be destroyed. Go to youtube and type in Cobra snakehead.

you heard wrong mate , there has been no confirmed catches in the uk to date , the one you may refer to that made headlines a couple of months back , was proven to be a hoax , the bloke admitted it , funny though that part did not make the headlines ,

cheers col

yeah ron the prices on the p,s i thought was very steep also but again they do list some i havnt seen arond here

Iv'e always found the prices ok at wildwoods when you consnider the fantastic selecton of fish especally the oddball and pred stuff. they get lots of speces that you never see anywhere else. Also the guys there give really good advice and won't sell you fish if they dont think you can look after them proply. And a lot of there fishes seem to be a lot bigger than some of the cheep ones around.

I paid £70 for a really nice arantimac last year when they were 95 at Amwell.

Where can you get pulchra for £20?
