About 6 years ago fishermen caught snake heads in North Caralina. Do any of you know if fishermen are still catching snakeheads in rivers, and lakes in NC ?

that was an isolated incodent as far as iam aware . i do not think there is a breeding population in nc
if i remember correctly it was a micro (although i may be mistaking), so unlikely to be a population.

About a month or two ago me and my husband were talking to the owner of our LFS about snakeheads and he said he has caught them here before and people would bring them to the store quite often to try and get rid of them after catching them. He said we still have them but didnt say exactly where they were caught, but we're in Wayne County if that helps. good luck!
yes i found the report again , it was not micro it was argus , so yes in theory there could be a population in nc . the reported specamin was reported from a resivoir so could be considered contained so no real acton has been seen against it

Thanks for the info. I was just wondering because I saw something on TV about fisherman catching them in Maryland, and Verginia.
i don't know about nc but up here in wv/md there's some, i have a friend who knows of a place filled with them, let's just say one will be in my tank soon
i think you could keep them if you said it was a pike cicklid nd if you get caught"i dont really see how you could" than just say you bought it as a pike! they look alike, lol !!!!!!!!
