Anyone got one? What's the going rate for these and can they be kept completely in water, or do they need a place to sit out of water?

Also what's their compatibility with fish?

Cheers,
JR

never had one but the lfs i worked at had 1 on display. it had a area where it was able to get out of water. not sure if its required.

Awsome turtles. Chelodina seibenroki(sp?) or Giant Snakeneck are some of the best turtles I ever had as far as personality. I had three a few years back and plan to get a different species soon (chelodina parkeri  ). The set-up I had them in did have a basking area that they used quite often. They were all about 7-8 inches (shell length). Thay can get about 12 inches. I got the trio of them (1 male, 2 females) for $250, but have heard they usually go for $125-200 a peice. That all depends on who your getting them from. They are great pets. You can have these guys trained to eat from your hand in about two weeks (at least thats how long it took me). And with their necks and funny eyes they are quite amusing to watch. All in all, they are great turtles.

beautiful turtles my friend breeds them they are truly amazing
