how big do snake neck turtles get?

I saw one at a fish store and was wondering how big they get?
210 ok for an adult for life?[7x2x2]

with two florida gars, red devil, breeding jags, asian red tail catfish, oscar, haitian?

the turtle was about 7-8 shell length and its neck was just as long or longer.

anyway there tight lookng turtles and was wondering if i could house it in with my fish?

and there sizes are in my sig

General rule of thumb:

Don't keep turtles with fish you don't want to lose or have chunks missing from.

If you want, you can always do a DIY aquarium and make it big enough to house all of them for life, then put a divider between the fish and the turtle.

yeah i knowall that but i found some babies about 2-3"

what about getting like two or three and growing them out in there?

I would never keep turtles with fish only because turtles are so messy. I would hate to lose a 15.5" gar just because of some turtle poop.

don't mix them Bsixxx. And snake necks ( of the Chelodina and Macrochelodina persuasion ) eat fish.

and if they don't eat them, they'll stress your fish to death, eventually.

and they can get quite big, since you asked, some of them more than a foot.

i have been told by several people, it isn't an issue if you FEED your turtle enough, and i'm inclined to agree because i have a RES and it won't touch bite size feeder fish if i keep him fed, i actually have 4 feeders in there and have for a couple weeks (kind of an experiment) and i haven't seen him even chase one. their not even damaged. i'm starting to think the golds have become like a cleaning station because i see them swim right up to the turtle and suck at his shell. and he doesn't seem to mind.

Be careful when handling-snakenecks can reach your hands to bite on either side of the shell, and claw at your hands when holding them near their tail. I had a nice scar from one who clawed through gloves and into my palm while handling it during a presentation. Beautiful animals, though!

Depends on the turtle too, I've got a Indo snakeneck in with some bichirs, butterflyfish and an SA lung. He doesn't bother any fish too big to swallow, but now he's eyeing the butterflys lol, time for a new tank!

these one?
Nope, look under Chelodina

Ironically the first one isn't an african helmeted turtle either lol, it's a Gibba sideneck. The've been popping up all over the GTA over the last yera, always under the wrong name...
