Well my pair of 2010 Turbo Corns(Corn snake X sonoran Gopher snake) both 38- 40 inches(huge for 2 years old!) broke through the divider and locked up(mated). I even got snake sperm on my hand :barf:
Well the generally accepted way of determining when a corn snake should breed is at least 30 inches long, 3 years old, and 300 grams. But this has gopher snake genes in it which are born larger and grow faster. they only thing that they dont meet is the age. they are well large enough and I haven't weighed them but I am certain they are heavier than 300 grams. I did not really brumate them but during the winter the temps dropped to upper 50s to lower 60s/ Do you think if she took, she will be fine? I really don't want her to become egg bound. Is there anyway I can tell if she took? I think I heard you check follicle growth or something like that, I really don't know. Any help at all is appreciated!
If she does end up having eggs, I do have the things to build an incubator, All I would need is vermiculite.

I had a female bull drop 6 eggs two days ago that was about the same size. They are from the same family, Pituophis, but get larger. I think you should be fine. She should start fattening up pretty quick. I would start feeding a little heavier to be on the safe side. 100_4789.jpgI've bred Colubrids for years and I keep the eggs in a airtight plastic shoe box at around 80 degrees and have never had any problems. Just open it up once a week to let in fresh air. Mix the vermiculite with water. You will have the right amount of water if you can grab the vermiculite and ball it up and it will retain shape. If water drips out it is to wet.

Well I think she's gravid. She's getting pretty plump fast. I read that she should do a pre-egglaying shed soon and in 1 to 2 weeks after that she should lay eggs. This correct?

The bad thing is, ill be leaving to mexico for a week around the time she should be laying. Also the temps inside the house aren't really stable, we're pretty cheap and don't use air conditioning.
Do you think, if she lays eggs in the eggbox wile I'm gone, they'd be fine incubating in the egg box for a week or less? Id use sphagnum moss in the egg box and I know it acts as a natural fungicide.

any tips appreciated.

Also is this pure vermiculite, no additives and stuff? http://m.lowes.com/mt/www.lowes.com/pd_180541-1321-50801727_0_?masthead=true&selectedLocalStoreBeanArray=&un_jtt_v_tabs=infoandguides#infoandguides
