I've done hours of studying Snakeskin gouramis, getting conflicting info on them. I know they are the second biggest gourami you can get. Some people say they are almost as gentle as the Giant gourami others say they are as aggressive as the three spot. Can any one out there that have some tell me what I can expect when buying a pair. Having the space for them won't be a problem but I don't want over aggressive fish that will cause me problems

They are actually not that big. The giant gourami and the kissing gourami are both much larger. When I worked at petsmart, we reguraly had them in stock. Most were gentle, some where not. In my experience with them, they can be a little nippy, but are not overly aggressive. I would keep them with other semi aggressive or robust fish. Not neon tetras lol!
Someone else may have more experience with them however.

they can can be kept with fish that can hold their own but not be too aggressive back. Not a fish for typical 'peaceful community' tanks, but not for 'aggresive' tanks either

Ask BichirAddict, he has had one for quite a while I believe. He may be able to help you out a bit. :)

They only get about 10inch fully grown .

Giant , Giant Red Finned , and the Pink Kissing Gourami grow much bigger than the Snake Skin , the Giant Gourami been the largest growing about 2Foot fully grown , then the GRFG' growing about 1.5 - 2Foot and then Pink Kissing growing to 6 - 12inch .

Depending on tank size , depending how big your other fish are and how aggro' they are towards each other it should work , if you can i would go get about 5 Snakeskins if your tank is bigger enough for them .

I had a tank full of all diffrent Gourami's along with a few tetras and Corys , all diffrent types and about 5 of each Gourami in the tank and i had no problems with them been togeather , some say you should be careful about mixing Gourami's and you shouldn't get too many of them in one tank , but it worked for me so i think if you can get a couple of another types of Gourami , something like 3 Moonlight or Pearl or even a 3-5 Chocolate's your tank would look great . A large group of Clown Loaches would look nice in the tank too , IMO . :)

Pleco if you want one of them for the tank too , IMO a Golden Nugget or 5-7 Clown Pleco would be nice .
