anything i need to know aside from the fact there mean there big and eat alot?

its about 12'' shell im guessing a gross of 18 nose to tail in a 150 (for now dont stress) he has black hair algae growing on him and from what i read its normal, and eats very well so far

main Q i had was when he gets to size will he be abiel to share a pool with some rtc and perhaps my florida soft shell or is he going to murder every one

This , best kept by itself.

word best tank size would you guys say about 300 with a ray tank foot print and a 150g sump and mad mech filtration

plan on a total of 24inches, they get bigger than you might think. A 300 gallon tank should be fine though. Do not put anything else in the tank unless you want to kill it, even a big RTC would fall prey to thes vicious turtles. They are super cool though, just be careful.

surprisingly, my buds breeding pair of large snappers refuse to eat the goldfish/koi in their small pond, but voraciously eat bluegill/bass/perch/birds/and a possum! One was WC while one was bought as a baby. Don't think either ever had a feeder goldfish before so maybe that's why? I wouldn't keep them with any fish you won't mind disappearing.

Are Convicts poisonous to turtles?
mine keep breeding like mad and my friend has a snapper. [insert evol laugh]

Why not get a smaller(baby) one?
