Hi guys.

Some of you might rememmber this post that MFK staff deleted due to my swearing, so I erased the swearings and repost it:

The thing is as follows:

About a week ago I got a 3" shelled common snapper and at the beginning put it along with my 3.5" shelled gator snapper.

The common seemed not to feel well in his new setup so I decided to take him out and put him in another tank with only 6" of water level. buy yet he showed himself pretty inactive and ate just a couple of fullmouths.

He was in that solo setup for about 4 days but quite inactive so I decided to put him back along with my gator snapper but yet remains inactive.

Now he just rests on a rock inside of the water near surface athough he doesn't baskin, I rarely see him swimming and walking on the tank bottom, activities that my gator snapper and my new three keeled turt take on pretty well.

I honestly dont know what the heck is going on, this is the second common snapper that I get and behaves almost the same than the previous one that by the way, passed away.

I dont know but I feel there is something wrong although the guy i got the snapper from is a pretty responsible turtle owner, in fact he does not sell turts I met him in other forum and I offer to buy him one of his snappers...

He told me the turt was healthy and eating well but as soon as I got my hands on this turt he has been behaving the described way.

My tank setup temp was at 26 so i decided to increase it yeaterday up to 29 to see if turt shows improvement.

The water of my tank is ok I have a good inner filter and I make partial water changes of the 33% every weekend.

I hope some of you guys can give me a clue, i wouldn't like to loose another snapper so my turt collection would be incomplete. If I loose this one I wont get any common snapper at all again.:irked:

There is no need to tell you guys that I am angry as heck......:irked::irked:
:irked::irked::irked:

I was able to read some previous answers of some of you guys but they were also deleted with the whole thread:irked:

So I want to thank you for your interest.

Coura can I keep a 3.5 shelled three keeled T. with a common snapper about the same size?.

Look I didnt quarantined them because I got them both from a guy who is a very responsible turtle keeper and he previously owned this 2 turts for about 3 months and they are healty.

I've been talking to him and we both believe the snapper behaves that way because it is his personallity.

I see him and looks ok but just lacks of apetite, i have just seen him eating a couple of fullmoths and thats not common if we are talking about a snapper, is it?...

We believe turt is kind of depressed...

What do you think guys?.

He probably lacks an appetite because you don't give him any time to relax. Just leave them all in their own tanks. What did you not understand about not keeping any other turtle with snappers unless given proper housing?

Oh yea;)

Lets twick that a bit, in proper housing andf husbandry we house snappers alone, period;)

No you can, if we are talking about Staurotypus they are mached to snappers in agression, in time they will just shred one another, very bad idea. Snappers are solitary and agressive creatures. They are canibalistic and territorial toard other snappers. Diferent turtles are considered food.

By what you descrive he is not that "healty". And Ive seen colections decimated if something infectious gets in there by a "clean animal". Quarentine 2 mouths always, no esceptions.

Some turts are shyer then others, and so much change in its litle life doesant help

He is trying to get used to its new home, again let him rest, hidding places and apelative foods and nothing else
What do you think guys?.
I think I need to wash the diches or my mon going to kick my posterior
