Snapper turtle legality

I know from reading this subforum that the common and alligator are illegal to possess in California.


I need help finding a list of reptiles illegal to posses in California, the sticky above wasn't to helpful for me, and I have trouble wadding through the California fish and game website.

According to a reliable website, have to look it up later to give ya a link, common snappers are known to breed in Orange County, adult pets released.

I don't even know if my snapper was legal or not. I kept him anyway.

Zfishies I can see the snapper that gott into your pond being an escapee from the clutches of a predatory bird.

This pond is at my grandmas in culver city, so how would he get that far? Maybe the bird was a mother and her nest was far ? Really far ? And was that desprite to get food ... Thats like 1and a million though lol
