I am just getting this post ready. Will take a while to get the photos and text all in order. :nilly:

Should I post two threads? One for the indoor setup and one for the outdoor?

Species: Common Snapping Turtle (Chelydra serpentina)

Sex: Undetermined

Number Kept: 2

As Always, this Event is Snappy Approved.

How do I edit my original post?

Cute Snapper!

Do be aware that as they grow you will need to separate them.

This is what you have to look forward to in eight or ten years. :D

Thanks guys!

I'll just start another thread I guess.

Nice snapper yourself. Yeah, here is one of the parents. It evicted our dog!

Gonna eat me outta house and home I'd say, lol. The babies will be in their own ponds by then! LOL

Thanks, lol.

My husband nearly stepped on it. He came and told me and by the time we went out there to look at it, it was gone. We searched for probably 20 minutes before the dog tipped us off that it was in his house, LOL.

He released it across the road in the direction it was originally headed. Its shell looked damaged in the center. It probably got hit by a boat a long time ago. Man snappers grown up wild, they are NOT nice and not very attractive! LOL

We had boxes and snapper hatch on the property this year. My poor husband accidentally weed whacked a hatchling box turtle. :(

AWESOME Dan!!!! Cannot wait for this time to come :headbang2

Yea, we live in the boonies where there's a lot of native wildlife. The turtles were awesome. Just wish we had known they were hatching here BEFORE hubby whacked it. :(

Now that I know, we will be better prepared to avoid them next year.
