Yeah he's got great color. I think it's because it was born captive and never in the bottom of some muddy river or lake? All the wild ones iv'e ever caught are always real dark and slimy. I'll get more pics of him up later with his tank mates.

There have actually been some recent studies that say many species of water turtles have the ability of change color to some degree to match the hue/color of their surroundings.

awesome, lets see some full tank shots! how big is he now?
 
I'll get some full tank shots up this weekend. He's in a 180 ga. I'd say his shell is about 8" across right now growing fast.
