snapping turtle suprise

So I just went upstairs to go to bed and I could hear sounds comming from my snappers tank. Figured it was her shell banging on the glass so I turned the lights on and to my suprise I found this. I just used a knife to pry the clam open a little bit to get her foot out. The snapper is gonna be fine and to make sure this doesnt happen again I moved the 2 clams from her tank back into the fish tank. Was only able to snap 1 pic cuz I wanted to get the clam off asap. I thought clams were filter feeders but I think they now prey on snapping turtles?

This is probly the weirdest thing to happen to one of my critters yet.

The clam might have been open while the snapper was moving about and the foot could have brushed over the clams interior causing it to snap(no pun intended)shut.

Clam won the battle but turtle won the war(clam is in another tank now).
