rEally?! i really wonder why? i never heard of snappers found at our rivers and lakes....

Yep, illegal in good ol Cali. I suggest that you buy a red ear slider and name it "snapper."

ahahahahaha, i already have a RES in my pond, i want something more BIGGER and BULKIER :grinno: .... maybe a soft shell is what im thinking now

You would need a HUGE tank for a snapper. Just the thought of a 100lb plus snapping turtle... I find it hard to concieve of the ramifications of keeping such a beast.

oh, i nvr put turtles in tanks, i think tanks and turtles dont go gr8 together.... i put my turtles in my pond.... much more open and they get fresh air :-D

The reason you can't have them is because they state of California doesn't want to take the chance of having snappers released into the wild.

oohhh i see now, prevention..... i think it's dumbo... ahahahaha, and how about freshwater stingrays, how come it's illegal to sell em here..???

You kind of answered your question. It's the same reason you can't have snappers. ;)
