Hey guys
Just an update on Sniffles, my corn snake. He has not eaten a solid meal in 7 weeks and as a baby corn snake of only 11 inches thats been to long. My vet was absolutly no help and told me everything I already new so it was a waste of 100 dollars. I have been tube feeding him but everytime he has rejected it. He has not released any fecal matter either in that time so hes not getting any nutrients. He has become really limp and has trouble moving on his own. I find him sitting in his water bowl all the time when I come home. Today I offered a frozen pinkie for the hell of it and he looked interested, I got my hopes up. It took him about an hour to get his mouth around it and about 30 minutes to swallow it because he has no strength left. He than reguritated it 3 minutes later and shortly after that coughed up blood, which I didn't even know was possible. The blood was from him and not the pinkie, I checked.
The vet still doesn't know what is wrong.
I have come to face the fact that he is not going to live much longer and is going to die soon. I am trying not to think about it because he was my first reptile and he got my into the hobby, I really love him. All I can say is that I tried. I know if I did not try I would beat my self up over it. I am not going to euthanize him because I do not have the heart to kill any of God's creatures. I am just going to let nature take its course on sniffles.
On the other hand all my other herps are fine.
Here are some pics of sniffles a while back and my other herps:
