ok so i got this snook it takes guppies and red minnows but i hate using feeder fish because i hate all the parasites they carry is there any safer food all my other fish are eating worms but i got a pair of guppies so i should have alot of babies.

and i just scored a free 55 gal with fish filter heater so im pretty excited right now :P
:nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly::mr-t:

i dunno the pet store had it labeled snook its not red so i think its the salt water one.

all there fish are freshwater acclimated thou he said i could change it over to salt if i want..

if it has the black obvious lateral line it is a SW snook not the bay snook, pretty obvious to tell the difference

id say more like the one on the right but its only an inch...

and i bought it from pet supermarket on blanding also where i got my tiger shovelnose
witch the guy tried to tell me would clean my tank

Well, if it is a saltwater snook then your going to need a HUGE tank.
And A LOT of healthy feeder fish and shrimp. It's pretty much impossible without much money. These guys can get up to 2-3 feet in length depending on what strin you have.

Then I bet it's a red bay.
They usually don't show coloring till a few inches and lenth.
A pet store selling a saltwater snook is highly unlikley as it can be illegal.
It's pretty obvious to tell if it's a SW snook cause they are elongated and have the dark lateral line even when little. Red bay snooks can be trained to take pellet, frozen, and freeze dried. But it's best to ask this in the cichlid forum, as they are cichlids.

i was hopeing it would get around 2-3 feet because then he will keep my Tsn company once i get my big tank right now they are both tiny thou ill have to post some pics later
soon i have to leave for senior photos err

thanks for all the replies,

i called the pet-store and he said they are brackish they don't tell him specifics.

youd think they would know what they are selling :P
