Snowflake eel brought back to life help!!

I had a my eel jump out the tank and put back in water and he was not breathing then once back in water he started breathing again now he's in the tank breathing and kind of swimming. My question is he is just sitting in one spot breathing how long does it take for him to get back normal and is there anything else that I have to do?

It may take him a few days, possibly less, but just keep the water clean and keep an eye on him. Also make sure to put a cover on the tank or cover up the hole where it came out of so that it doesn't happen again.

Ok thanks for the reply he also has some loose white excess slime on him will that eventually fall of or do I need to do something about it? I really would rather not handle him to much cause im sure hes stressed
